Why Organic Food is So high-priced


Why is it that the foods that are good for you all the time seem to cost more money? While it seems like a twisted version of Murphy's Law, organic food is ordinarily expensive. Many citizen don't seem to query paying higher prices for these foods, while other query if it is worth all of their hard earned money.

It is perfectly understandable that citizen are upset about having to pay more money to eat healthy, but it is a small price to pay (literally) to eat foods that are free of harmful pesticides and chemicals,

Of course we all have that crazy aunt or uncle in the family who says they refuse to pay more money for organic food, and then cite how they have been eating the same things for the last 50 years. While this may be the case, study after study has shown that organic food is healthier for you than quarterly foods. These foods while free of chemicals and pesticides also consist of more indispensable nutrients our bodies need.


So this of course begs the question, if these foods are so essential, why are they so expensive?

One major presume is because the farmers use compost and avoid using harmful artificial fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. This makes their crops susceptible to insects and in general their crop production is much smaller than that of a quarterly farmer. The cost of being an organic certified farmer can also be costly as well.

All of these factors can drive up the price of most organic foods. However, there are alternatives to walking into an costly organic food store. One such alternative is to visit your local farmer's market. Here you will find many organically grown products at very inexpensive prices and since the food is locally grown, it is ordinarily fresher as well.

When the colder months move in, be sure to do study on where you can find organic products at a inexpensive cost in your area. Many citizen assume that these products have to be very expensive, but with a small self-education, there are numerous ways you can find organic food at great prices.

In the end, it is your body and what you put in it is your responsibility. I think you would agree that a small time spent investigating where to buy organic food in your area is something your body will assuredly thank you for.
